What is Trichology?

Trichology is the science that studies the diagnosis and treatment of problems of the hair, scalp and hair follicles, which lead to symptoms of dandruff, texture problems, hair loss and other serious conditions.

The name trichology stems from the Greek word 'tricos', which means 'hair' and the suffix 'ology', which means 'the study of'.  Trichology focuses on treating the hair from the inside-out. A healthy scalp begins with a healthy body.

What is a Trichologist?

Trichologists are experts in understanding the intricate biology of hair, including its growth, structure, and various conditions that can affect it. Trichologists play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of hair and scalp disorders, such as hair loss, dandruff, alopecia, and dermatitis.

Trichologists employ a holistic approach, considering not only the physical aspects of hair but also factors like nutrition, genetics, and lifestyle when assessing and addressing hair-related issues. Their expertise is invaluable in helping individuals achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful hair, and they often collaborate with dermatologists and hairstylists to provide comprehensive care and solutions for their clients.
